A really excellent post from Matt Jones on Robot AI.

“The ‘wily’ tactic then would be to stay far away from the valley – aim to make technology behave with empathic qualities that aren’t human at all, and let us fill in the gaps as we do so well.”
I want to remake Star Wars
So, probably every Star Wars fan, and geek has thought about it, but I have been thinking about remaking Star Wars. Star Wars : Drone Version.
Each episode is about 7-8 hours long. Perhaps more I haven’t done the maths.
Same story, same action, but long, really long shots.
So tracking across Tatoine the landspeeder, same shot, but slow. Slug slow. a 3 minute shot tracking the Landspeeder across the desert

Hoth, the snow, the cold -
Long tracking shots looking for probe droids.

Not all of it will be slow.
The cantina will be more like the opening shot of Casino, again 1 long tracking shot, around the aliens drinking.
It would give a Kubrick like feel to space.
Huge Imperial Star Cruiser docking over 12 minute sequences.
Beautiful fly bys of Tie fighters, making space feel larger, more dramatic, bigger and less like a video game.
anyway.
